In September 2011, LCTV 66 signed an agreement with Comcast that gives LCTV responsibility for the management and operation of the countywide Comcast community channel, channel 66.
In January 2013, LCTV 66 became a charitable 501 C 3 nonprofit.
LCTV 66 is a project of passion for Frank Altdoerffer, CEO and Diane Dayton, executive director. Both Frank and Diane have been actively involved in the local communications industry for many years. In fact, they were one of the first in the country to play a CD on WLAN, FM 97 in 1983! Frank was an engineer and Diane was the on-air personality Diana Rixx. Frank and Diane’s collective skills, talents and experience provide a perfect blend to help shape our community channel.

LCTV’s Mission is to enhance the visibility, marketability, communications, unity and strength of the Lancaster community by providing a medium for community education, information on community topics, and a forum for the exchange of ideas on topics of community interest.

LCTV began airing programs in the summer of 2011 that included Opera Lancaster, Lancaster Barnstormers, Science Explorers, Dance With Passion, K Pets and Keystone Art & Culture Center. In the fall we rolled out some original programming including Profiles, It’s Your Life Lancaster, Lancaster Arts Connection, Lancaster Music and a Documentary Night. Cool Jazz Café became a regular feature.
Since LCTV 66 starting airing local programs there have been well over 100 local high school & college sports on the channel- football, lacrosse, volleyball, field hockey, basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, ice hockey plus a local Polo match and women’s USTA, pro tennis from Hempfield Rec.
New shows created just for LCTV 66: Cahill’s Kitchen with Dennis John Cahill, Science Explorers for kids with Jupiter Jen, Andy & Patrick- news magazine show, Sports Central Pa with Bryan Jordan, Spotlight with Daron Pressley, Profiles with Diane Dayton & Rachel Daddezio, , It’s Your Life Lancaster- heath nutrition show, Alexandra Clayton-Animal Shelters & Adoption, A First Friday feature, Summer in the City Special, Tom & Laurie Reese Silent Movies with original music & local artists concert footage. Additional Kids & Senior programs are in development along with a new show, “Home Matters for Women” with Michele Weiss – home care & maintenance tips.
Plus airings of: MU Ware Center performance “ A Soldier’s Tale,” Theatre for Transformation’s “To Cross an Ocean Four Centuries Long,” Mary Haverstick’s documentary “Florence Starr Taylor,”“Defend it or Destroy It,” -local history, “Buy Fresh, Buy Local,” Salt & Colt Humpback Whales –Cetacean Society, Thaddeus Stevens- original play, PA Dancesport Ballroom Showcase, & Assets Lancaster.
LCTV also airs Governmental Programming such as Behind the Headlines, Legislative Reports, and Conversations with local representatives.
Programming provided by local schools, such as, Hempfield Happenings and high school graduation ceremonies and college commencement speeches.
Live Green – Lancaster City produced segments dealing with rain water issues. Curiosity Quest is a national show featuring environmental issues of local interest with various aspects of recycling. Behind the Lines with Diane Dayton is a weekly interview show that airs on Blue Ridge Cable 11, some of these shows then also air on LCTV 66. Shows cover various topics of local interest with nonprofits & fundraisers, local book reviews, upcoming theatre performances, health topics, social issues, artist/music segments etc. Plus LCTV 66 airs Public Service Announcements submitted from the community.
